“Is the glass half empty of half full?” Our assignment for the Blogging 101 class was to write a blog from a prompt that relates to the blog itself. My blog includes my efforts to work as a volunteer to do monthly World Peace Hologram Repatternings. Since I have chosen to explore areas of violence that are so destructive in our world I realized I cannot focus just on the negativity without moving into envisioning how things might be different.
Scientific research shows us that what we choose to think about impacts us on all levels and the more we think about something the deeper the grooves in our brain become, reinforced by the chemical neurotransmitters released. So negative thinking that is repeated over and over deepens those grooves. It is obvious then that if we turn our attention and creative energies to exploring alternative outcomes we are literally creating new pathways in our brain. So I say, let’s not ignore our problems but as we face them let us look for the seeds of new possibilities within them that lead us into new outcomes unknown to us at this time. This is an exercise of ‘loving the not yet’ as we dream, envision, and evolve together. We have a choice…half empty or half full. What will we choose?

In a dark time, the eye begins to see. Theodore Roethke
As with countless others I was deeply shaken by the recent shootings in Charleston, S.C. The offer of forgiveness from the family to the shooter was a model of peace-making that touched me deeply. It is so contrary to our usual response to those who hurt us but follows the command of Jesus to “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you”. I don’t know about you but I think that is a hard thing to do!
When we watch the news we see endless act of violence in all areas of life and in all areas of the world. I often feel so helpless and overwhelmed by what seems like a growing surge of violence. It feels like craziness gone out of control. At the same time we see signs of change which are hopeful for me; accountability for crimes against minorities, the move to remove the confederate flag from the South Carolina statehouse, and efforts to end the buying of elections through big corporate donations to politicians to name a few. Years ago I heard Barbara Marx Hubbard say, “We need to look for what is breaking through in the midst of what is breaking down”. I have loved that quote and to this day I continue to look for the good amidst the chaos and when I stop to notice I see the goodness all around me…and I give thanks!
One of the things I do is to stay centered and grounded is the work I do in Resonance Repatterning. As a practitioner I use the tools to clear energetic patterns which keep me from seeing the radiance all around me and within me. I am also an active member of a praying and inclusive faith community which reminds us to love the world as God does and to care for one another and the planet on which we live.
In the upcoming months I will be volunteering to give a monthly World Peace Hologram Repatterning, sponsored by the Repatterning Practitioners Association (RPA). I will focus on envisioning a world in which all of life is valued and respected as we explore the seeds of violence within each of which manifest in so many ways. As we address our own shadows and bring them into the light we can strengthen the paths of peace which the great spiritual leaders and traditions have given us.
Topics I will work with include: Violence toward our planet, violence toward ourselves, violence toward women and children, violence to those who differ from us in skin color or religious beliefs. These are just some possibilities which I will want to explore. The dates are not yet set so watch for further updates. When the site is up and running, within a month or two, you will be given an opportunity to add your input and be a participant in the repatterning. In that way you can name some of your hopes and fears which will be included in any sessions offered.
I signed up for a 3 week course through WordPress to develop some skills for this site. I will have daily assignments 5 days a week.
Day 1: Write and publish a “who am I and why I’m here” post.
I am Jennifer Johnson, a retired psychiatric nurse practitioner currently working as a certified practitioner and teacher of an energetic healing system called Resonance Repatterning (RR).
My main purpose for this blog is to connect to current RR students to provide support in developing the skills to become expert practitioners. Some of them are learning this work for themselves, friends and families. Others are seeking certification for work with others and I serve as a Designated Observer for the Repatterning Practitioner Association (RPA). In that role I mentor and monitor the development of skills and competency with the goal of recommending a student to the RPA for recognition as a certified practitioner who has met the rigorous standards for a professional practice. A hopeful side effect of this blog would be to heighten curiosity and interest in the work of Resonance Repatterning.
My other goal is to explore topics and engage in conversation with people about subjects that interest me: cosmology, spirituality and religion, evolution, progressive Christianity, and holistic health.
